Eucerin Complete Repair Plus Moisturizing Lotion

Eucerin Complete Repair™ Intensive Lotion with 10% Urea contains a unique and highly effective combination of ingredients that combat multiple key factors which cause dry skin:

  • Urea and natural moisturising factors (NMFs) bind moisture to hydrate the upper layers of the skin, leaving it feeling smooth and soft.
  • Ceramide-3 replenishes the skin’s natural moisture barrier to prevent moisture loss due to evaporation.
  • Glyceryl Glucoside supports the skin's moisture barrier.

Clinical Formula

Ceramide 3

Ceramides are produced by the skin as a natural protective barrier that prevents moisture loss due to evaporation. If the skin’s ceramide levels fall, dryness can result. Ceramide-3 is a synthetically produced biologically identical molecule that protects the skin's natural moisture barrier.

Glyco-glycerol

Being a derivative of the skin’s own humectant glycerol, glyercyl glucosides facilitate epidermal moisturization. Dry, stressed skin shows significant reduced aquaporin channels. These channels control the transport of cellular water and other small solutes between and into cells. Thus, playing an important role in maintaining epidermal water balance. The most abundant aquaporin in the epidermis is aquaporin-3 (AQP3). Glucosylglycerol (Gluco-glycerol) stimulates the expression of AQP3 in epidermal skin cells and has been shown to stimulate the formation of aquaporin 3 (AQP3) in skin cells, thus increasing the number of aquaporins that control water transport in and out of cells.

Urea

Urea is one of the substances produced naturally by the skin called “natural moisturizing factors” (NMFs). Urea is hygroscopic, binding water in the uppermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum. Urea is also keratolytic, meaning it breaks down the connections between dead skin cells, improving cell shedding and, thus, smoothing the skin’s surface.

Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF)

NMFs are a variety of water soluable compounds like amino acids, Urea and Lactic Acid which naturally occur in the stratum corneum (outer layer of the epidermis). They increase the water-binding capacity of the skin, keeping it well hydrated.

FAQ

Why do I need a special moisturizer for very dry, rough skin?

A moisturizer specially formulated for very dry, rough skin should be rich in the ingredients that skin needs to prevent moisture loss, bind in more water and strengthen its protective barrier. Left untreated, or treated with a product that doesn’t contain the appropriate ingredients, skin might dry out further and may crack.

Eucerin’s UreaRepair PLUS 10% Urea Lotion contains a high concentration of Urea and other NMFs (to bind water in to the skin) and Ceramide (to repair the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss). The formula gives immediate relief and carries on working, delaying the symptoms of very dry, rough skin for up to 48 hours.

Is Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS 10% Urea Lotion safe for children?

This product is recommended for adults and has not been tested for children. For babies and children with dry skin and Atopic Dermatitis we recommend Eucerin AtopiControl. Most products in this range are suitable for babies over three months old.

How can I tell if I have very dry skin or a skin condition or disease?

You can find information about dry skin as well as conditions such as Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis) and Psoriasis on this website. You can also take our skin test to find out more about your skin type and condition and how best to care for it. If you are still unsure, or concerned about your symptoms, we recommend you ask a pharmacist or dermatologist for advice.

    Original was King
Please please please bring back the ORIGINAL version. The new one is crap. I've been using the ild one for 30 years. It was incredible good for my skin issues. The new one is like water and doesn't last for a day.

20 years and still using for Ichthyosis
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this product over 20 years ago and haven't looked back. I suffer from Ichthyosis and this product have been a life changer for me. It has been the ONLY product I have found that actually improves me skin and keeps moisture in. I tried lots of other products and found this by chance many years ago. Anyone suffering from Ichthyosis no matter how mild this is the product to use.

Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS: 10% Urea Body Lotion
The old Eucerin 10% urea lotion changed my life. It would prevent skin dryness for a few days, giving confidence. It was an amazing product. For somebody who has Ichthyosis type skin it was the only product that worked. The latest product Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS 10% urea is very good, but not as good as the old product at preventing my dry skin condition. Please offer the old product as an alternative or upgrade the latest to meet the needs of Ichthyosis skin types. As mentioned, Eucerin lotion is a life changing product.
