Eucerin Sensitive Mineral SPF 35 Tinted Face Sunscreen Lotion formulated with 100% naturally sourced Zinc Oxide offers a sheer tint that blends seamlessly into many skin tones. Unlike traditional mineral sunscreens, this Eucerin sunscreen lotion dries clear, leaving a matte finish and no visible residue. Suitable for daily use under makeup, this tinted face sunscreen features a unique Antioxidant Complex that defends the skin against environmental aggressors that weaken the skin’s moisture barrier for healthier-looking skin.

Should you apply sunscreen before or after makeup?

Apply sunscreen to your face after cleansing and before applying makeup for the day. Give your facial sunscreen a few minutes to absorb into the skin before applying primer, foundation, or other cosmetic products to your face. Remember to reapply sunscreen regularly throughout the day, at least every two hours, or more often if sweating or getting wet. Use along with other sun protection measures and follow instructions on product packaging.

What SPF sunscreen to use on your face

As a general rule for facial sun protection, choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. For additional protection, you may wish to use SPF50 on your face. The higher the SPF, the higher percentage of UVB rays are blocked. SPF 50 stops up to 98% of UVB rays. Note: while higher SPFs block more of the sun’s UVB rays, no sunscreen can block 100% of the sun’s UVB rays.

How much sunscreen to use on your face

According to Health Canada, adults should use about a teaspoon (5 millilitres) of sunscreen on the face and neck. When applying sunscreen to your face, don’t forget to cover often-overlooked areas like your ears, and lips. Read more tips on how much sunscreen to use on your face and how to properly apply it.

How often to reapply sunscreen to your face

While it’s important to wear sunscreen every day, it’s not a “one and done” solution to apply sunscreen once 15 minutes before sun exposure and assume you’ll be covered all day. If you’re spending time exposed to the sun, be sure to reapply your facial sunscreen at least once every 2 hours, reapplying more often if you’re sweating or getting wet. Be sure to use sunscreen in conjunction with other sun protection methods like wearing sunglasses and other sun protection clothing and accessories such as hats, long pants, and long sleeves. Follow the directions on your sunscreen’s packaging for further recommendations.
